Pixar: A Science and an Art

It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t like Disney films, let alone the ones from their accompanying filmmakers, Pixar. Since their beginnings in the late 80’s and their first animated film in 1995, Toy Story, this once small company rocketed to fame in nearly a heartbeat with its charming wit, amazing effects that continue to improve and impress, and memorable characters that win the hearts of both children and adults alike. With all that imagination at work in every film, many have to wonder just what it takes to make such marvelous films, and in Onyx Glendale you get to chance to find out for yourself.

About half an hour’s drive away from our luxury apartment complex, the California Science Center will present “The Science Behind Pixar,” a limited exhibition that’ll be showcased until April 16th. Featuring over 40 different interactive displays, the eight sectioned presentation will display every step into animating a Pixar film, including all the high tech computer technology, research, creativity, and mathematics necessary to render each scene to perfection. All your favorite characters will be there: Woody and Buzz, Nemo, Sully and Mike, and so many more faces to take pictures with, and to make long lasting memories. Admission to the California Science Center is entirely free, so feel free to explore the permanent exhibits anytime you like with your family and friends, though tickets will be required to entire the Pixar exhibition; tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children, and $12 for college students and seniors, though discounts and packages are available online, through membership, military, group pricing, and more.

So take a trip down the toy box to see what Pixar has up their sleeves. Visit Onyx Glendale luxury apartments to browse our available suites and lofts, and then enjoy “The Science Behind Pixar” along with other exciting events right in your neighborhood.
