Nothing beats a healthy meal and here in Pasadena we’re blessed to live in a place filled with them. But who can separate the good from the great? In short, which are the best healthy restaurants in Padadena? That’s the subject of our latest blog.

True Food Kitchen

We’ll start off our tour of the best healthy restaurants in Pasadena with True Food Kitchen - a health-driven, seasonal restaurant merging nutrient-rich ingredients with a flavor-forward menu that rotates regularly to let guests experience great-tasting ingredients at the peak of their freshness. It’s extremely friendly to dietary restrictions and needs from vegan, vegetarian, to gluten-free and dairy concerns. We recommend reservations as True Food packs out quickly.

Urban Plates

There are more healthy restaurants in Pasadena; have you been to Urban Plates? They’re like Tender Greens – just cheaper! We sampled the grilled steak with brussel sprouts and chicken with roasted potatoes along with the passion fruit, coconut, mint drink. Both were delicious! They also serve mini pizzas called Pizzettes that are yummy. You can get a full on dinner in with desserts, beer, wine, and an assortment of drinks to choose from. There is outdoor seating area which looks cute and quaint. Highly recommended!

Pencil

Another fantastic restaurant to eat healthy in Pasadena is Pencil over on 12 Harkness Avenue. Pencil is a community-oriented, family-operated, sandwich shop and cafe. It first opened its doors in 2013 and was created by Mother & Daughter team. Pencil offer healthy salads, unique sandwiches, and specialty drinks all created with love in a warm and inviting atmosphere. We sampled the Spicy Chicken Breast with Gochujang sauce and loved it!
